5 months already?!  That's crazy pants.  But totally true.

Oh What A Night

We had a rough night last night.  To be fair, it has been a long while so we were probably due.  Harper and I went to bed at 8:30 - a miracle!  At 11, she was crying out in her sleep and couldn't be lulled to peace.  That began the walk around the living room.  We had a thunder and lightning storm, so we watched the rain, and talked about what its like living in Washington, and how it was just a baby rain compared to what she would see there.

We were both getting super sleepy, so about 1230 I tried to nurse her back to sleep.  She kept latching on then yanking off, waving her arms about and thrashing her head from side to side.  I heard a little burple near 1 AM, lifted her up to keep burping, and then she exploded.  Projectile vomit!  She was soaked, I was soaked, and our sofa was soaked.  Gross.

Harper, however, was totally proud of herself, and while I was finding new pjs for her and I, she was rolling on the ground laughing and grabbing her toes.

And then she was up for three more hours.  I did the dishes, started her diapers in the wash, took out the garbage (a little walk in the rain can do a tired momma good), and downloaded the fonts needed to edit our wedding invitations.

Eventually Harper let me lay her down, she eventually let me nurse her, and she eventually slept.

I'm just glad today is Sunday and I don't have to try and go to work after that.

Another plus, when I came out to pump this morning, Dan walked in from smoking and I said, "Oh, I thought you were going to have donuts with you."
"What kind do you want?"
"Cake."
"I'll be right back."

And now I have donuts to eat.

Mom, my hat is too small.

Since my computer is on the fritz, loading photos is more difficult.  Dan's computer, however, still allows me to load some video.  So for your enjoyment, here is Harper talking..about something.  Be sure to wait until the end to see a killer smile.

And Ciara, she has worn her hat before this, but there were no pictures.  It is now too small.  Her dome has exploded!

4 month stats

Harper had her 4 month appointment and shots today. She is such a trooper! She was all smiles and dimples up until they stuck those SUPER long needles into her chubby little thighs and then she wailed for about 15 seconds. Her face got so red and the wail itself was one long, drawn out, huge breath of sound. Then I scooped her up and gave her a hug. She stopped the sound, but big tears rolled down her cheeks for a bit longer. Dad gave her a bottle with a dose of tylenol in it, and she went to sleep in the car on the way home.

Her stats:

Weight: 17 lbs. 10.5 ounces (95th percentile)
Height: 27 inches (99th percentile)
Head: 16.75 inches (87th percentile)

Proportional and developing fine. And she's got snazzy Sesame Street band-aids to boot!

17 Weeks!

Four months on Saturday. It's so awesome, this whole mom/dad/kid/family thing we've got going on.
I love walking in the door after work and seeing my girl all snuggly with her dad, or waking up from nap, or ready to eat.

She is a keeper!

15 weeks and 16 weeks

15 Weeks.  She wasn't in the mood to be put down for a photo, so, here we are in the bathroom.  Snuggly baby = Happy momma
Kodak wanted to get in on the fun.  Harper hasn't figured out what a kitty is...yet.

16 weeks!  I'll probably forget to take her picture when I get home from work, so this week you get some sleeping shots.
Happy, toasty baby.  She loves her Very Hungry Caterpillar blanket!  Her 4 month appointment will be right around the bend.  I think she's still in the high 90-percentiles, just based on how she looks and feels compared to Oscar and the babies in my mom group.  We'll see!
